My name is Ky! :)
I like everything tech; but especially smartphones! I own a Pixel 9 Pro currently but have owned OnePlus, Samsung, and other Google phones in the past. I learned HTML & CSS as a kid when I first moved to America and have since began learning Python, Linux basics, and JavaScript. I am proud of some of the things I've learned and worked on, such as installing Arch Linux on a low-end Chromebook (2 GB of RAM is rough), compiling Android from source and running it on a OnePlus 8, hosting my own Immich and Navidrome servers, and much more. Besides technology, I LOVE listening to music!! My favourite genres are emo, punk and metal but I'll listen to almost anything alternative. My favourite bands include Bring Me The Horizon, Silverstein, Cane Hill, nothing,nowhere., Sleep Token, and I Promised The World. I like some pop singers too though, like Halsey, Medium Build, and Imagine Dragons. Check out my ListenBrainz profile!! Whenever I'm not listening to music or tinkering with tech, I like to journal, read (physical) books and magazines, run 5K's, run, jog, hike, or bike on trails, watch movies and TV shows with my friends and go to concerts and shows!
Despite my passion for technology, I want to rework my relationship with it. Social media has become very addicting, ruined body image, increased anxiety and depression, and serves as a data harvesting and surveillance system for corporations and governments alike. Privacy is non-existent and still declining. AI is taking all of our water and no one seems to want to do anything about it. While I know I alone can't fix all of these issues, I want to take a step in the right direction for myself by making this website and deleting traditional social media. I want to use my phone less and limit my use of Google apps and services. Above all though... I want the old internet back!! When it was fresh and cool and still had personality.
